If you’re like us, you tend to sit through the credits of movie – it’s a nice way to see/respect everyone who worked so hard on the film. Often in big productions, you’ll see a list of voice actors who provide “additional voices.” This could be providing something as simple as grunts and yells for explosions or re-voicing minor characters. Today StarWars.com released the names of all the voice actors in Star Wars: The Force Awakens… and a couple on that list might surprise you.
Besides the aforementioned David Acord, who voiced the internet-loved Storm Trooper TR-8R, we also have the voice talents of Sam Witwer, Dee Bradley Baker, Mark Dodson and Kevin Smith. Yes… @ThatKevinSmith.
Sam Witwer voiced a number of Storm Troopers and various character in the film, but before that people might recognize him as Aidan from Being Human, Doomsday from Smallville or the Starkiller from The Force Unleashed games.
Dee Bradley Baker has an IMDB credit list a mile long, but Star Wars fans might recognize him as Commander Cody or Captain Rex from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Mark Dodson, who also has an extensive credit list, was the voice of Salacious Crumb in Return of the Jedi.
Finally, everyone favourite pot-smoking director/podcaster Kevin Smith voices a Stormtrooper who says “We have incoming at 28.6! Move!”
