Week in Review (Sept. 23)

In the week where Yahoo suffered a massive cyber-attack, the Geeks with Kids ask, “was TRON involved?” Also, a notorious actor is being asked to join the DC Cinematic Universe while a fan favorite gets a new monthly comic series. A Stephen King novel is coming to television and group of sewer-dwelling teenagers get a face-lift from an animation legend.

LaBeouf Under the Red Hood?

It seems like a growing group of fans are petitioning Warner Brothers to have Shia LaBeouf play the Red Hood in the upcoming DC movies. The petition has over 2000 signatures already. LaBeouf worked with Suicide Squad director David Ayer on Fury (2014) but reportedly, the studio isn’t eager to see a reunion. Shai fans be like:

I think he’d be fine. Jason Todd is usually written as a loose cannon prone to making rash decisions – the type of character LaBeouf excels in. Also, he’s apparently a cannibal so he’d fit right in in Gotham City. Maybe he should play The Flamingo?

Raven Takes Flight

In other DC news, fan favourite Raven is got her first ongoing title this week! Creator Marv Wolfman pens Raven’s first ongoing title since premiering in the New Teen Titans back in 1980. A planned spin-off book, “That’s So Raven” is rumoured (no it’s not).

A Towering New Show

On the subject of opening hell, Entertainment Weekly reports that Wizard and Glass, the fourth book in Stephen King’s Dark Tower series will be an adapted for TV AND tie into the upcoming movie.
