Playlist for an early morning commute, or for when you need some adulting music…

My mornings are early; I’m generally up before the sun.  My commute is long in the sense that it takes me hours to go a relatively short distance from home to where I work.  My car has become my second home.  It is my little island paradise.

No work shall be discussed or managed in my car, although thanks to the power of Google Docs, I can dictate a blog outline once in a while.

Coffee will always be close by.

There will be no Raffi or Sharon, Lois and Bram, or Wiggles.  Just my music.

Without further ado, based on a moment of zen from the Movie, High Fidelity,  here’s my take on the Monday (or anytime) tune you need to help you see the end of the long commute tunnel, or for when all the songs in your child’s one album rotation have been exhausted.  I hope to expand on this someday.  For now, enjoy and safe driving.

Mrs. Robinson  – The Lemonheads

No Sleep Till Brooklyn – Beastie Boys

Our House – Madness

Left Hand’s Free – alt-J

The Touch – Stan Bush

We’re Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister

More to come! Stay tuned!
