Bryan Fuller pulls out of “Star Trek: Discovery”

CBS Television Studios announced that Bryan Fuller has stepped down as the showrunner for “Star Trek: Discovery.” He will remain as executive producer of the CBS All Access digital series.

Fuller has stepped down due to his ridiculously busy work schedule on Starz’ “American Gods” and NBC’s “Amazing Stories.” Fuller wrote the first two scripts for “Star Trek: Discovery” and has plotted out the series story arc.

Alex Kurtzman, Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts will continue to oversee the show and will split showrunning duties.

“Star Trek: Discovery” is set for a May premiere.
