Brian K. Vaughn’s epic comic series “Y: The Last Man” looks like it’s finally getting out of production-hell. “American Gods” co-showrunner Michael Green has been hired to serve as showrunning and co-writer for TV adaptation of the series set for the FX network.
The comic mini-series follows an escape artist named Yorick Brown and his pet monkey Ampersand, who are the last two males on Earth after something mysterious kills every mammal on Earth with a Y chromosome. Yorick goes on a mission to find his girlfriend Beth who was on vacation in Australia. Along for the ride is Agent 355 of the famed Culper Ring.
Film adaptations have been tried for years with DJ Caruso, Louis Leterrier and Dan Trachtenberg being previously attached.
No premiere date has been set.
