“Dune” is coming back

Legendary Entertainment, the folks behind a bunch of little films you probably haven’t even heard about (“Batman Begins”, “300”, “The Dark Knight”, “The Hangover”, “42”, “Godzilla”, “Interstellar”, and “Pacific Rim” to name a few) just announced that it has picked up the rights to “Dune” by Frank Herbert.

According to the press release – “The agreement calls for the development and production of possible film and television projects for a global audience.”

So what that means to fans, we have no idea.  Will they try and make a film?  Will they go the way this geek hopes and make an HBO series.  Come on people!  Bring it to HBO.  We’ll get a bunch of good stuff from the books and maybe they’ll fix some of the bad from the later books.  *snark

Either way… we need Sting and Sir Patrick Stewart back… am I right?
