“Star Trek: Discovery” casts Sarek and pushes back premiere

I’ve got some good news and bad news for you “Star Trek” fans out there. Should I start with the good news or the bad?

The good news is that James Frain (Gotham, The Tudors) has been cast as Sarek, Spock’s father. Sarek was a beloved character who appeared throughout the TV series and the films.

The bad news is that it seems that CBS is pushing the premiere date from it’s May date. Speaking with “Entertainment Weekly”, CBS said that “we will be flexible on a launch date if it’s best for the show.”  Hmm.

“Star Trek: Discovery” features the recently announced Frain, alongside Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif and Mary Chieffo, and it will be released whenever CBS wants to.
