Emmy-winning actress Mary Tyler Moore, best known for “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and the “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” died on Wednesday surrounded by friends and family at the age of 80.
Moore had been ill over the past two years, suffering from heart and kidney problems, close friends said. Her representative Mara Buxbaum said her death was caused by cardiopulmonary arrest after she had contracted pneumonia.
Moore, who won seven Emmy Awards for her television work, was also an avid activist for diabetes research and animal rights.
GWK would like to send out thoughts and love out to Mary Tyler Moore’s family and friends.
